For my personal investigation I want to look at spirit animals and the history behind the concept of them. I have a strong love for animals and was inspired to look into spirit animals by movies like Brother Bear and the fact that I have always been interested in the belief of them. My aim is to create art that represents people's spirit animals.I think the belief spirit animals is a beautiful concept and something I strongly believed in as a child. I also believed in reincarnation so I may expand my investigation to include this.
In addition to spirit animals I am going to look at the relationship between people and animals, mainly between people and their own pets. There is a special bond between people and their animals and I want to show this through my art as animals have been a massive influence on my life. Having animals in my life has allowed me to become more confident in myself because animals don't judge you for what you look like, only for how you treat them. They also have taught me to be empathetic and patient and to listen carefully to what others have to say as animals are constantly communicating with us silently and its up to us to listen so I'd like my art to show an appreciation for animals and the things they can teach us.
